In its final home match of the regular season, Ball State defeated No. 10 Ohio State in five sets (25-21, 23-25, 25-23, 23-25, 15-12) on Sunday.
After falling to the Buckeyes 11 straight times since 2008, the Cardinals ended the streak behind a powerful all-around performance.
Junior setter Dan Wichmann recorded 60 assists and led Ball State to a .268 attack percentage in only his second start of the season. Sophomore middle attacker Matt Leske dominated Ohio State at the net to finish with 12 blocks.
Junior outside attacker Greg Herceg improved his career-high in kills for the third time in the past two weeks, putting away 22 balls to go along with a .255 attack percentage.
Ball State has little time for celebrate and rest. It will travel to play Loyola on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
