Ball State finished Mid-American Conference crossover play Saturday with a 76-55 loss at Kent State.
The 21-point loss was the Cardinals largest margin of defeat this season and their sixth consecutive loss. All six of those losses came against teams from the MAC East Division.
Ball State never led in the game and trailed by as many as 25 points in the second half.
Kent State shot 51.7 percent from the field and had nine more rebounds and assists than Ball State. The Cardinals shot 38 percent from the field.
The Golden Flashes were led by reigning MAC Player of the Year Justin Greene who scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds. Four Kent State players scored in double figures.
Freshman forward Aaron Adeoye led the Cardinals in scoring with a career-high 14 points. Sophomore's Chris Bond and Tyrae Robinson finished with 11 points each.
Ball State's depth in the front court was thin entering the game. Both forwards Matt Kamieniecki (back injury) and Tyler Koch (death in family) did not play.
With five conference games left before the MAC Tournament, Ball State sits in third place in the West Division at 12-11 overall, 4-7 in the MAC.
The team's next game is at home on Wednesday versus Toledo. Ball State won 70-68 at Toledo on Jan. 10.
