Fans of the movie "Tangled" will be able to meet one of the story's architects Thursday.
Today, animator and storyboard artist Mark Kennedy will present at 7:30 p.m. in Teachers College Room 101.
The electronic art and animation program at Ball State hosts Kennedy's visit.
Kennedy's presentation will be centered around his participation in Disney's feature animated film "Tangled." He was the story supervisor for the film.
Kennedy will focus on the traits that make up a good story sketch, the story processes practiced by Disney and the construction of the film "Tangled," according to a blog on Kennedy's website.
He also worked as head of story on the film "Chicken Little." Kennedy voiced the character "Hollywood Runt" in the animated film.
Other animated films Kennedy has worked on for Disney include "The Rescuers Down Under," "Beauty and The Beast" and "Aladdin."
The Facebook event page "Mark Kennedy talks Tangled" has comments from students and faculty expressing their excitement about Kennedy's presentation.
Kennedy said he would present at Ball State after hearing how John Ludwick, an assistant professor of electronic art and animation, has followed Kennedy's storyboard history.
Ludwick said he felt Kennedy was the "perfect guy" to give this presentation.
Kennedy blogs about his storyboard knowledge, filmmaking and animation on his blog titled "Temple of The Seven Golden Camels."
Kennedy is now working on a graphic novel called "The Forever Mechanism." His other blog, dedicated to "The Forever Mechanism," has preview images available along with descriptions and information about the setting of the novel.
The presentation is free to students, faculty and anyone interested in hearing about Kennedy's work in "Tangled" and other tips on becoming a better storyboard artist.
