Though Wuhnurth has moved away from Muncie, the brand is still local this weekend at Be Here Now.
Wuhnurth's Chillage in the Village, a one-night music festival featuring The Mantras, Fresh Hops and Glostik Willy, will start Friday at 9 p.m.
Be Here Now owner Whitney Lewis said the festival is their attempt to stay alive in Muncie.
"I don't know if it's defunct now or what, but I think they're kind of trying to keep the name alive," Lewis said. "At some point, maybe they'll do something again."
On Saturday, Be Here Now hosts the Chicago band Midwest Hype release party for "Dayglow." It's the band's first album since their 2008 effort, "Colorful Love."
Though music normally takes the mainstage at Be Here Now, Lewis said the weekly Comedy Moshpit is working on bringing some more well-known comedians to the bar.
"[The Comedy Moshpit organizers are] really trying, once a month, to get a headliner in," he said. "They've been looking at the Crackers schedule and offering to drive them here and back."
Beyond acts coming to the bar, Lewis said the bar has made some improvements.
"We've built up our outdoor enclosed smoking area," he said.
The outdoor installation, which caused the bar to receive a zoning violation last year, has been completed and surrounded in tarp to protect the bar's smoking patrons from the wind.
He said the bar has also sold the advertising on their north wall.
"We almost have our advertising on the wall all shored up," he said. "We'll sell 7' by 8' of space on our wall. Everything we advertise is local businesses."
He said he was disappointed to see next door business MT Cup close.
"No one even knows who owns it now, it's really a shame," Lewis said.
