Former Ball State basketball player Bonzi Wells has been waived by the Minnesota Timberwolves according to a press release from the team.
Wells signed a training camp contract with the Timberwolves earlier this month, which didn't guarantee him a roster spot by the beginning of the regular season. Minnesota couldn't make a roster move to allow Wells a spot on the 15-man roster.
In two preseason games with Minnesota, Wells averaged 1.5 points and 2.0 rebounds while averaging 12.5 minutes per game.
The 10-year veteran had been out of the NBA since 2008 after playing for Portland, Memphis, Sacramento, Houston and New Orleans. He had short stints with playing in China and in Puerto Rico.
