Ball State women's swimming and diving's unbeaten start to the season is alive after a win at the IUPUI House of Champions this weekend.
Out of nine teams, Ball State placed first with 831 points. Xavier finished second with a total score of 601 points. Host IUPUI finished fourth with 465 points.
Ball State had top-3 finishes in 18 of 20 events it competed in. The only two events the team didn't place in were the 100 yard backstroke and the 200 yard backstroke.
Individually, freshman Carlena Magley won the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 24.66 seconds. In the 200-yard individual medley, sophomore Haley Richter and junior Mackenzie Imbro came in second-place and third-place, respectively. In the 400-yard IM, Imbro recorded a first-place finish and teammate junior Katelyn Pratt-Collins placed third.
In the 100-yard butterfly, Richter and sophomore Mallory Miles finished first and third, respectively. Sophomore Emily Wisolek and junior Jillian Bischoff placed first and third, respectively, in the 200-yard freestyle.
Ball State earned a sweep in the 200-yard breaststroke as sophomore Bridgette Ruehl, Imbro and sophomore Stacey Wierman all placed in the top-3 for the Cardinals.
In the diving events, seniors Christina Riordan and Whitney Adams placed second and third in the one-meter diving, but placed first and second, respectively, in the three-meter diving event.
Ball State returns home Friday to host the Doug Coers Invitational.
