The Ball State soccer team's season may be over, but the team is still picking up awards.
Junior defenders Brigit Reder and Skylar Chew were named to the Capital One Academic All-District V Third Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America on Tuesday.
Reder, a three-year starter for Ball State and a special education major, has a 3.92 GPA. She ranked first among Mid-American Conference defenders in scoring, with 16, and goals, with seven, this season.
Chew, another three-year starter with a psychology major, has earned a 4.0 GPA. She started all 21 games of the season and was awarded Academic All-District honors for the second time in her career. Chew is the third Ball State soccer player to earn the award twice in a collegiate career.
Reder's and Chew's academic recognition is the first time two players from the Ball State soccer team have been named as Academic All-District in the same season.
