Kara Bates apparently wasn't quite satisfied with her stellar play against Sacred Heart Saturday morning.
She played even better against Virginia Commonwealth Saturday evening, scoring 19 kills to push Ball State to its 11th win of the season with a 3-1 (25-21, 27-25, 20-25, 25-18) victory.
With the win, Ball State wrapped up the Spartan Invitational with a 2-1 tournament record to improve to 11-2 on the season.
For her performance in the tournament, Kara Bates was named to the All-Tournament team. Senior setter Brittany McGinnis was also named to the team.
Senior middle blocker Kelsey Brandl ended the match with 13 kills, while sophomore outside hitter Whitney Heeres collected 10.
