With the help of six-under-par 138 from senior TJ Carpenter, Ball State is in fifth place out of 19 teams in the Air Force Invitational after two rounds of play Sunday.
Carpenter is in a tie for second, trailing only Colorado State's Zahkai Brown by one stroke.
Ball State's overall score stands at 575. Colorado leads the tournament with a 559, followed by UNLV in second with a 561, Colorado State in third with a 568, and Denver in fourth with a 574.
Sophomore Tyler Merkel is in a tie for 23rd with a even 144. Behind him is junior Alex Stinson with a three-over 147 to tie for 43rd, junior Joe Gasser with a five-over 149 to tie for 59th and junior Tony Lazzara with a six-over 150 to tie for 69th.
The final round of the Air Force Invitational concludes today with a scheduled tee time of 7:30 a.m.
