Cardinal Lanes will be filled with clashing white pins at the Black Student Association's Cosmic Bowling Party today.
BSA will be hosting a cosmic bowling party from 5 to 7 p.m. to get more people involved with the organization and find out what the organization is about. The event is free and open to everyone.
The group's motive is to reach out to the African American population by supporting one another and instilling values that will help them advance in life, Vice President Essence Vinson said.
"We just want to let people connect with the executive board, and hopefully they will know that they have a support system," she said.
Music and free pizza will be served. Other activity rooms that will be available for play including pingpong and foosball. Students may choose their own teams. A special prize will be given to students who bowl a score of 300.
Sophomore Nursing Major Sydney Wharton said she is looking forward to the event.
"I am expecting to meet new people, see a different side of the people I already know and to have fun hanging with people from my community," she said.
Wharton said she is a proud member of the organization and encourages others to check it out.
"I want to get in touch with the people in the black community," she said. "I love learning about the issues in our community and I think others should also."
BSA meets every Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the Art and Journalism Building Room 175. Vinson encourages students to attend the weekly meetings.
"It's something fun to do and a great way to meet people, so come out and support us," Vinson said.
