Today marks the end of an annual poster sale on campus, where hundreds of students have visited throughout the week and purchased low-cost merchandise for their dorms and apartments.
The sale takes place at the corner of McKinley and University avenues in front of the L.A. Pittenger Student Center and ends at 6 p.m.
The sale, run by The College Poster Sale Company, visits Ball State annually in the fall and spring with more than 1,000 posters to choose from. Most of the posters cost $8 and $9.
For students, the sale offers low-cost decorating options, and for its clerks, it's an opportunity to tour the country.
At least that was the case for Stephane Camboulive, an actor from Paris who joined the company in order to experience America.
"I was excited to interact with students and tour the United States," the Frenchman said. "It was a dream of mine from when I was a kid to go to America, and the sale has allowed me to do that."
Camboulive said sales were high during the weekend before school started, but business was slower during the week. Overall, he was pleased with the results.
Phoebe Higgins, sophomore travel and tourism major and Muncie resident, said the poster sale is an annual event for her.
"Every year I go, I find a new poster," she said. "I really like the variety."
Higgins has purchased several posters from the sale, including a copy of Gustav Klimt's painting "The Kiss."
Josh Collins, junior Japanese major, has also enjoyed perusing the selection of posters.
"I like how the posters are split up into specific sections," he said. "If I want to find a band poster, I know where to look."
Higgins and Collins are both happy with the prices of the posters.
"I like how I can buy a poster with the money I have on me," Collins said. "I don't have to worry about prices being so I high I have to go find money. Other places around have less variety, and for higher prices."
