Numerous potholes and other damage on Bethel are being repaired this week.
Bethel from Tillotson Avenue and Oakwood Avenue and from New York Avenue and Wheeling Avenue are being blocked off lane by lane to be repaired.
Pete Heuer, Muncie department of public works superintendent, said the repairs along Bethel were very needed.
"Between the Northside Middle School and the Alumni Center, there were several base failures in it and it was really rough, so we are coming back through and fixing those," he said. "It was beyond patching. It is really rough."
The stretches of Bethel are also getting thermoplastic for lines down the center of the road. Thermoplastic should last longer and show brighter, Heuer said. Older blocks that are being repaired are being simply painted.
Heuer said the repaved Bethel should be finished by the end of the week.
