Ball State men's basketball has announced a new director of basketball operations for the 2011-12 season.
Mickey Hosier, who spent last season as the video coordinator for the Cardinals, has been promoted as the team's director of basketball operations, coach Billy Taylor announced Monday.
"We are really excited Mickey is extending his stay with the Ball State basketball program," Taylor said in a press release. "It was great having him part of the team last season and back in the BSU basketball family. We are excited for his new and expanded role on our staff this year."
Hosier was a four-year letterwinner with Ball State from 1997-2000 and played on the 2000 NCAA Tournament team. He replaces Ron Oliver, who held the position last season.
After playing at Ball State, Hosier went on to coach varsity basketball at Wes-Del, Lakeview Christian and Alexandria High Schools.
"I want to thank Coach Taylor for the opportunity to continue as part of the Ball State basketball family," Hosier said in a press release. "Ball State has always had a special place in my life and returning to the basketball program has been very exciting for me and my family."
