A former Ball State softball player has been named the school's assistant director of compliance and operations.
Allison Pennock, who earned four letters playing as an outfielder for Ball State from 2006-09, was hired to the position that became available on June 1.
According to the job description, Pennock's responsibilities will include overseeing all game management and operations for Ball State's 19 sports. She will also coordinate management of contracts for game officials and sports and provide support with internal investigations.
Pennock earned a bachelor's degree in public relations and served as the graduate assistant for compliance and operations from 2009-11. She also earned a master's degree in sports administration.
In her senior year, Pennock was on the team that won the school's first Mid-American Conference Regular Season Championship.
She batted .256 in 52 games with Ball State. She was second on the team with four triples and tied for second on the team with 17 stolen bases with a .951 fielding percentage in her last season with the Cardinals.
