Senior Night wasn't the only recognition J.D. Gasparovic earned over the weekend.
After two solid performances against Penn State and St. Francis, the senior middle attacker was named the Midwestern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association Defensive Player of the Week.
Gasparovic finished the weekend matches with a combined 13 kills and 13 blocks. He most notably had success above the net against Penn State, in which he tallied together 10 block assists.
He also is currently third in the MIVA and fifth nationally in blocks per game with a 1.32 average.
Gasparovic was named to the 2011 Pre-Season All-Conference Team last Decemeber.
