The weather was no match for students determined to have a good time despite a rainy Late Nite Carnival.
Late Nite advisor Hannah Harrison said that although the weather may have affected attendance, they are still hoping that they reached their goal of 7,000 people.
"We had people waiting in line, rain or shine," she said. "I think the cold isn't affecting people."
Sara George is one of those people who stuck it out.
"Other than being cold, we're having a joyous time," she said. "We're troopers."
The public relations graduate student has gone to the Late Night carnival every year, but this year is her last.
"I had to go to it, even if it's crappy weather," she said.
However, Dave Brown, a junior Natural Resource Environmental Management major, was not happy about the weather.
"They should have rescheduled when it was warm and not spitting rain," he said. "Other than that it was good."
Harrison said rescheduling it for Saturday the right decision. Friday's forecast called for thunderstorms and high winds, which could endanger the safety of the rides.
"The weather isn't as dangerous today, but it's not as nice," she said.
Some people sought shelter in the heated shuttle stop, including Hannah Meacham, a sophomore elementary education major.
Despite the weather, she was happy to be there.
"I really like the rides," Meacham said. "That's why I come."
