Ball State traveled to a familiar place as the women's tennis team took on Michigan State Saturday, but were defeated 7-0.
Coach Christine Bader attended Michigan State University from 2004-2008 where she was captain of the tennis team.
"I took Evansville's team there for there fall tournament and then we played them in a dual match," Bader said. "Same thing with Ball State we went to their fall tournament, this is actually the team's second time in East Lansing."
Not only did Bader coach against her former school but she also coached against her former doubles teammate Whitney Wilson who defeated Sarah Hebble 6-3, 6-2.
"To me it was just another tennis match," Bader said. "It was exciting because I know the team, I know the girls so I think that was a bit of an advantage for us. It was a good match and I think the girls really learned a lot."
Next weekend the Cardinals will return home to face Eastern Michigan to begin Mid-American-Conference play the match will begin at 1 p.m. The team will participate in Campus Kids Day.
Campus Kids Day is an event sponsored by the team where elementary and middle school aged kids can come out and experience a college match.
