WOMEN'S GOLF: Cardinals take 12th out of 15 teams

Seniors Kelly and Pruett tie for 22nd individually

The Ball State's women's golf team placed 12th at the 15-team UNLV Spring Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Club in Boulder City, Nevada.

Senior Brittany Kelly and senior Rachael Pruett, both tied for 22nd with total scores of 222.

Kelly started off slow with a first round score of 77, but came on strong in the last two rounds, firing a 73 and a 72. Her score of 72 was lowest of the event for the Cardinals.

Sophomore Autumn Duke shot a career-low 73 in the first round, but was not as sharp in the next two rounds, carding a 79 in each. She tied for 49th.

Pepperdine won the event, shooting 20-under with a total score of 844.

The Cardinals next event will be the Arkansas-Little Rock Golf Classic at Diamante Country Club in Hot Springs, Arkansas. They will tee off on March 28.
