WOMEN'S GOLF: Ball State places 10th at Rio Verde Invitational

Brittany Kelly earns fifth top-10 finish

The Ball State's women's golf team finished 10th at the Rio Verde Invitational in Arizona, defeating Mid-American Conference foes Western Michigan, Ohio and Bowling Green.

Senior Brittany Kelly tied for second with a six-over par in the 90-person tournament. Her three-round score was 74-75-73 for a 222. It was her fifth top-10 finish of her senior year.

Senior Rachael Pruett tied for 45th with a 22-over 238, while junior Katie Windlan fired a 25-over 241. Sophomore Autumn Duke and sophomore sophomore Chantelle Hefer followed closely, both shooting 246.

The event was held at the White Wing Course, which plays a par-72 and is 6,317 yards long. The challenging course kept even the winner of the event, Catherine Dolan of Missouri State, over par.

The Cardinals are competing at the UNLV Spring Invitational in Boulder City, Nev., this week.
