The Ball State women's basketball team begins its Mid-American Conference Tournament campaign tonight at Buffalo at 7 p.m.
The Cardinals enter the tournament as the No. 11 seed after finishing the season 9-20 overall and 4-12 in the MAC.
Ball State finished the season on a nine-game losing streak, which started Jan. 29 at Buffalo.
In their only matchup this season, the Cardinals suffered a 77-61 loss. Senior forward Emily Maggert scored 19 points and had five rebounds. Senior guard Ty'ronda Benning had 13 points and junior forward Amber Crago had 10 points in the loss.
Buffalo is led by First Team All-MAC selection Kourtney Brown, who is averaging 22 points per game. She scored 29 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the win over Ball State earlier this season.
A win for Ball State would allow them to move onto the second round of the MAC Tournament in Cleveland to face No. 3 Central Michigan.
The Cardinals split the season series against the Chippewas.
