The Ball State track and field team had 31 top ten rankings this weekend at the Polar Bear Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan University.
Fourteen of those 31 runners finished in the top-three of their event.
The Cardinals relay teams ran well, with the team of Rebecca Lomax, Thekla Lorenz, RaJae Marable and Janae Taylor receiving first place in the 4x100. The 4x400 team of Hannah Lange, Taylor, Lorenz and Smith brought home a third place finish.
Taylor took first in the 100-meter dash and second in the 200-meter dash.
In the 100-meter hurdles, Lorenz placed first. She also competed in 200-meter dash, placing fifth.
Judah Smith placed first in two different events the 200-meter dash and 400-meter dash.
Lange placed third in the 400-meter dash and eighth in the 200-meter dash.
In the 1,500-meter run, MaryKate Mellen placed third, while teammate Madeline Goheen placed tenth. Goheen also placed third in the 5,000-meter run.
Allison Blanch placed sixth in the 5,000-meter run.
In the 800-meter run, Christen Talhelm placed sixth and Emilee Zets took the ninth spot.
Rebecca Lomax placed first in the high jump and ninth in the 200-meter dash. Kelsey Jackson Also placed third in the high jump while and Samantha Rife and Dana Craunke became caught in a six-way tie for fourth.
In the pole vault event Tara Spitzer-Long finished seventh.
Alyssa Hurlburt placed second in triple jump and eighth in the long jump.
In shot put, Melissa Dodaro placed fourth and Kate Krull placed ninth. Dodaro and Krull also both placed third and eighth in the discus throw, respectively.
Lywanna Melvin competed in the hammer through and placed seventh, while Jordan Puckett took tenth.
Ball State's only competitor in the javelin throw was Jordan Traver. She placed seventh.
Next Saturday, Ball State travels to Purdue for the Purdue Invitational.
