The Ball State women's swimming and diving team wrapped up the 2010-2011 Mid-American Conference Championships with one more school record and five more top-16 finishes on Saturday.
The Cardinals finished in eighth place, 51 points behind Akron and Bowling Green.
Ohio took the 2010-2011 title with 669.5 points, besting Toledo (630.5), Miami of Ohio (561), Eastern Michigan (385), Buffalo (328.5), Akron, Bowling Green and Ball State.
Freshman Mallory Miles set the Cardinals' all-time best mark in the 200 backstroke with a swim of 2:00.91 in the preliminaries. Miles now holds the school record in both the 100 and 200 backstroke.
Miles went on to finish eighth in the 200 backstroke finals, where she was joined by fellow freshman Haley Richter in 10th place.
Freshmen Bridgette Ruehl and Stacy Wierman placed 11th and 16th, respectively, in the 200 breaststroke final.
Senior Maria Gramelspacher was the fifth individual scorer, taking sixth overall in the 200 butterfly final.
In the final event of the championships, the 400 freestyle relay team of senior Katie Bylsma, Richter, freshman Mia Miller and junior Nicole Saulters took fourth with a time of 3:26.33.
The Cardinals set 10 school records in the four-day event, with six set by members of the freshman class. Three of those ten records were relay events.
