WOMEN'S GOLF: Ball State opens spring season in Texas

Cardinals led by Kelly after first round of play

After one round of play in the Claud Jacobs Intercollegiate in Victoria, Texas, the Ball State women's golf team is in ninth place out of 17 teams.

Ball State is playing in its first event of the spring season after finishing the fall season with three top-five finishes.

The second round of the tournament was suspended due to darkness. Play will continue today with the second round beginning at 8:15 a.m., followed by the final round in the afternoon.

The Cardinals finished with a team score of 320, led by senior Brittany Kelly, who scored a round of 77. Her score put her in a tie for 13th in the individual rankings.

Kansas leads the tournament after the first round with a team score of 301.

Other Ball State scores included senior Rachael Pruett with a 78, sophomore Autumn Duke with an 81, junior Katie Windlan with an 84, and freshman Meghan Perry with a 94.
