ELKHART, Ind. — State police say a search of a sport utility vehicle during a routine stop on the Indiana Toll Road led to the seizure of about 100 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated $500,000.
Trooper Ted Bohner said he pulled over a Chevrolet Tahoe that was following too closely on the toll road near Elkhart on Friday. Bohner became suspicious and called Elkhart police, who brought in a drug-sniffing dog.
Twenty-five-year-old Harry Oranges of Napa, Calif., was arrested on charges of dealing marijuana, a class C felony, and possession of marijuana, a class D felony. He was being held on a $100,000 bond in the Elkhart County Jail. He is scheduled to make his first court appearance Thursday.
