Just after breaking its four-game losing streak this past weekend, Ball State lost to Mid-American Conference East opponent Bowling Green, 65-64 Wednesday night.
After jumping out to a 12-4 run to begin the game, forcing Bowling Green (12-12, 7-3 MAC) into a timeout, Ball State (14-9, 6-4 MAC) allowed Bowling Green to hang around and eventually climb back in the game.
Three Cardinals scored in double figures. Jarrod Jones and Malik Perry both recorded double-doubles.
Jones scored 15 pulling down 14 boards while Perry brought in 10 and had 11 rebounds.
Jones' double-double makes for his ninth in the season. For Perry, it's his first of the year.
Freshman Tyrae Robinson came off the bench to score 12 points in the game.
The leading scorer for the Falcons was A'uston Calhoun with 15 points.
Ball State connected on 23-for-56 (41.1%) from the field and 5-for-19 (26.3%) from behind the arc.
The Cardinals committed 18 turnovers against the Falcons.
The loss makes the battle for first place even tighter with six MAC games remaining, three of which are at Worthen Arena.
