INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — An Abraham Lincoln impersonator from Brownsburg will deliver Lincoln's most famous speech Tuesday to the Indiana Senate.
Photographer Wilbur Tague will recite the Gettysburg address in advance of President's Day on Monday.
Tague said people often told him years ago that if he grew a beard, he would look just like Lincoln. So in 1976, he tried it and began portraying Lincoln for schools, civic groups and other organizations. Indiana Senate officials say Tague now makes about a dozen appearances as Lincoln each year.
Lincoln lived in southern Indiana's Spencer County from age 7 to 21. He gave the Gettysburg address in 1863 at the dedication of a soldiers' cemetery in Pennsylvania.
Thespeech will be broadcast at 1:30 p.m. online at: http://asx.ihets.org/senate/live.asx .
