Nicole Allen was honored as the Mid-American Conference Gymnast of the Week, the league announced Monday.
This is her first individual award from the MAC.
Allen was selected after leading Ball State to its first win of the season during Saturday's meet against Eastern Michigan. She posted first-place results in the all-around and the floor exercise, and she also scored a career-high 9.725 on the uneven bars, finishing second to teammate Brittney Emmons.
On the season, the sophomore is ranked in the top 10 in the conference in the vault, floor and all-around. She also has the highest average score on the bars for Ball State this season.
Allen will lead the Cardinals (1-4, 1-1 MAC) when they compete again Friday night. Ball State will host Illinois State in a 7 p.m. start.
