This weekend promises to be a busy weekend for the Ball State Track and Field team as it heads to Bloomington to take part in the 2011 Gladstein Invitational hosted by Indiana University.
The two-day event features over 20 men and women's teams competing. Events start at noon on Friday and 10 a.m. Saturday.
Last weekend the team placed fifth at the Bowling Green Challenge. Thekla Lorenz (Long Jump) and Rebecca Lomax (High Jump) both had first place finishes and will be athletes to keep an eye on this weekend.
Others to watch out for this weekend are Senior RaJae Marable in the 60-meter hurdles; Janae Taylor in the 200-meter Invitational; competing in the 400 meter Invitational Judah Smith and MaryKate Mellen in the one-mile run.
Ball State University is taking two different relay teams to compete in Bloomington.
The first team competing in the 4x800 run is Emily Zets, Christine Talhelm, Esther Tirado and MaryKate Mellen. Running the 4x400 will be Hannah Lange, Brandi Robinson, Thekla Lorenz and Judah Smith.
