Randy Davis was selected as Mid-American Conference West Division Player of the Week thanks to his effort on the court, the league announced Monday.
Ball State went 2-0 in both conference games last week, knocking off Eastern Michigan and Toledo to improve to 13-4 and 5-0 in the MAC.
In the two victories, Davis averaged 17.5 points and 6.5 assists.
Ball State's victory at Toledo was its first at Savage Arena since Jan. 12, 2002. In the game Davis posted 24 points, a career-tying point total for the junior point guard.
Over half of those points can be credited to his perfection from the charity stripe. Davis went 14-for-14 from the line down the stretch against the Rockets. He added a 4-7 shooting performance, while knocking down two 3-pointers.
Davis also had four steals and dished out seven assists against the Rockets Saturday night.
In Wednesday's matchup, Davis marked 11 points and handed out six assists.
Through the first 17 games, Davis averaged 10.6 points, which is third on the team. He also averages 5.5 assists and 3.6 rebounds per contest.
Davis is the second Cardinal to be selected player of the week this season. Jarrod Jones has received the honor twice.
