INDIANAPOLIS (AP) — Indiana Republican U.S. Senate nominee Dan Coats reports going into the last weeks of the campaign with more than eight times as much in available money as Democrat Brad Ellsworth.
Campaign reports released Thursday show Coats had about $1 million on hand heading toward the Nov. 2 election. Ellsworth had about $119,000 at the Oct. 13 report period deadline.
The Ellsworth report showed a $220,000 expenditure last week for advertising time, but a spokeswoman won't comment on whether the campaign will continue TV commercials through the election.
Ellsworth raised about $68,000 during the Oct. 1-13 period, far behind the $243,000 raised by Coats.
So far during this election cycle, Coats has raised $4.4 million to $2.3 million by Ellsworth.
