FOOTBALL: Ball State will visit Oklahoma in 2011

BSU will receive record pay day for game

Ball State will face Oklahoma in its final nonconference game of the 2011 season.

The Sooners will pay the Cardinals $900,000 for the Oct. 1, 2011 contest, according to a contract obtained through the Indiana Access to Public Records Act. It is the most money Ball State has received for a game.

The previous Ball State record for a single game payout was $800,000 for games against Auburn in 2009 and last week's 45-0 loss to Iowa.

Kenneth Mossman, senior associate athletics director of communications for Oklahoma, confirmed the information to the Daily News via e-mail.

This will be the first matchup between the Cardinals and the Sooners. Ball State's last game against a Big 12 school was a near upset, as it fell 41-40 to Nebraska in 2007.
