MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – A big day from Ball State's running backs powered it to its second victory of the season, defeating Central Michigan 31-17 on the road.
The Cardinals were led on offense by Eric Williams' three touchdowns and David Brown's 117 rushing yards. Cory Sykes added 92 yards on the ground and Ball State rushed for 308 yards.
The Chippewas entered the game with the highest-scoring offense in the MAC, but the Cardinals held them to their second-lowest point total of the season. Defensive end Robert Eddins recorded 4.5 sacks to led Ball State.
The victory improves the Cardinals to 2-3 overall, but they are a perfect 1-0 in the Mid-American Conference.
