The Ball State Hall of Fame has announced the four new members selected for induction in January.
The Hall of Fame class is made up of defensive back Mike Lecklider, men's tennis player Paul Kruse, setter Emily Sallee and women's tennis player Lori Hill.
Lecklider played defensive back for the Cardinals from 1974 to 1976. He broke the school record for career interceptions with 14, which has since been tied by Shafer Suggs and Sean Baker. Baker tied Lecklider's record last weekend against Eastern Michigan. Lecklider was a co-captain on Ball State's first Mid-American Conference championship team in 1976.
Kruse played on the men's tennis team from 1990 to 1992. He compiled a 56-22 singles record and was part of the doubles team with Dan Kronauge that was ranked No. 3 in the nation in his senior year.
Sallee was a setter for the women's volleyball team from 1997 to 2000. Sallee owns the school record for assists and was named MAC Player of the Year in 1999. The Burris Labratory School graduate helped Ball State to three straight MAC championships from 1997 to 1999.
Hill is the first women's tennis player to be inducted. She had an 83-50 singles record during her collegiate career from 1992 to 1996. Hill was part of Ball State's first doubles MAC championship in women's tennis in 1995.
A notable absence from the Hall of Fame class is Bonzi Wells, who is the leading scorer in Ball State men's basketball history. He is one of just two men's basketball players to have his number retired.
The induction ceremony is Jan. 14 and the class will be honored at Ball State's men's and women's basketball doubleheader Jan. 15.
