WOMEN'S GOLF: Ball State finishes in second at Hawkeye Invitational

A second-place finish in the Hawkeye Invitational this weekend was well deserved for the Ball State women's golf team.

Ball State finished the three-round tournament at the par-72 Finkbine Golf Course with a score of 932, six strokes behind host and champions Iowa. North Dakota State came in third place, seven strokes behind Ball State.

Individually, senior Brittany Kelly came in second with a 220, six strokes behind North Dakota State's Amy Anderson.

Katie Windlan's 231 was good for fifth place scoring 231, while Rachael Pruett tied for eighth place with a 235.

Freshman Sarah Westaway finished her second collegiate tournament tied for 30th with a 246, and Chantelle Hefer's 256 resulted in a 47th-place finish.

Autumn Duke competed as an individual and placed 44th with a 267.

Ball State's next tournament is the Cardinal Classic, which the Cardinals will host on Sept. 27 and Sept. 28 at The Player's Club in Muncie.
