A triple threat is coming to Ball State.
Actor, writer and comedian Dan Mengini will do stand-up tonight in Pruis Hall as part of University Program Board's Welcome Week.
Mengini fits Ball State because he tends to make fun of college and life, said Dillon Kimmel, vice president of marketing for UPB.
"We try to bring comedians that will pick on the university and talk about pop culture," he said.
"He'll make students laugh. He takes common, everyday nuisances and ramps them up and points out how silly they are."
Kimmel said students may recognize Mengini from the television show "One Tree Hill," Adult Swim or fark.com.
Even if students don't know who Mengini is, they should still go to his show, Kimmel said.
"Welcome Week is all about getting to know people and the university," he said. "UPB likes to supply entertainment, whether it's [Mengini's show] or Quad Bash. Have fun and take advantage of it before you get loaded with school work."
Mengini performs at 9 p.m. in Pruis Hall.
