FOOTBALL: Ball State announces kickoff times

Five home games to start after noon

Students will get to sleep a little later this year before they go to Ball State University home games.

Ball State released kickoff times for its home football schedule and most road games Tuesday.

Five of the Cardinals' home games will start after noon, which had been the typical kickoff time for the past few years. Only the Homecoming game against Western Michigan University will start at noon this year.

Ball State will start the year with a pair of 7 p.m. games, including the Thursday opener against Southeast Missouri State University on Sept. 2.

The three remaining home games will all kickoff at 1 p.m. When the schedule was initially released, coach Stan Parrish called it "student friendly." Now that game times have been announced, it is even friendlier to Ball State students, who now can grab an extra hour of sleep on game days.
