The Ball State University softball team is rolling once more.
The Cardinals have won four straight games heading into today's doubleheader at the University at Buffalo leading the Mid-American Conference West Division with a 4-2 MAC record and are a MAC-best 26-9 overall.
Ball State returns to MAC play after a brief hiatus on Wednesday. The Cardinals swept visiting Indiana University in a doubleheader at the BSU Softball Complex, as senior ace Elizbeth Milian dominated in their 5-2 game-one victory before the bats came alive in a 9-1, five-inning affair in the second contest.
If the numbers are any indication, Milian and the Cardinals' pitching staff should continue to roll against the Bulls (13-21, 3-3 MAC). Buffalo ranks 11th out of 12 MAC teams in batting with a .222 team average and also rank 11th in runs (80) while ranking 10th in hits (180).
Buffalo's top pitcher this season has been Sharon Barr. The senior has showed off her control in the circle, ranking 37th in the nation in hit by pitches per game (0.27) and 150th in walks allowed per seven innings (2.34). Barr also ranks fourth in the MAC in strikeouts with 102.
After today's doubleheader — which begins at 1 p.m. — the Cardinals travel to face Kent State University (17-16, 4-2 MAC) for a two-game series on Saturday and Sunday.
