Although generally intended for younger age groups, girls of all ages will have the opportunitiy to find fun at Super Science Night tonight from 6 to 8 in the Cooper Science Building lobby.
The event is a continuation of the events being held on campus to celebrate Women's Week. It is geared toward girls ages 12 and older, but all women at Ball State University and in the Muncie community are welcome to attend with friends and family members of both genders.
The event will consist of a night of hands-on activities, including the opportunity to participate in a "Make Your Own Hand Lotion" lab as well as a number of contests with giveaways.
Jason Ribblett, assistant professor of chemistry and faculty adviser of Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, said the event is a great way for girls of all ages to get involved in science.
"Super Science Night is similar to an event we put together for girl scouts in the fall," he said. "This gives girls in the Muncie community the opportunity to participate in those same activities."
Sponsors for the event include Student Affiliates of the American Chemical Society, ISTEM science faculty and the American Association of University Women.
Although not required for most activities, preregistration is required to participate in the "Make Your Own Hand Lotion" lab. To register, call 765-285-1042 or e-mail Dana Zumberger at dmzumberger@bsu.edu.
