WOMEN'S GOLF: Ball State leads after 1st round of Cardinal Classic

After the first round, the Ball State University women's golf team is in first place at the Cardinal Classic.

Ball State leads the 16-team tournament as the team shot a 293 in Saturday's first round.

The Cardinals enter the final round with a five-shot lead against second-place Eastern Michigan University.

Sophomore Kristtani Cain posted a career-low 71. Cain ended Saturday afternoon in three-way tie for the individual lead.

Junior Brittany Kelly is tied for fourth place.

The 16-team field will conclude the Cardinal Classic on Sunday morning with an 18-hold shotgun starting at 9 a.m.
