Letterman to interview Obama on tonight's 'Late Show'

WASHINGTON (AP) - President Barack Obama's recent media blitz will continue on the "Late Show with David Letterman."

David Letterman, a Ball State alumnus and host of the CBS late-night talk show, will interview Obama on a new episode airing at 11:35 p.m. Monday.

Obama spent a majority of the weekend discussing health care reform. Interviews of the president were broadcast Sunday on ABC, CBS, CNN, NBC and Univision - and health care was a top topic.

The amount of time Obama spent on television shows the last few days discussing health care reform has received criticism from Republicans.

South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham - himself a talk show guest on NBC's "Meet the Press" on Sunday morning - said Obama is doing his best to sell an overhaul that the public just isn't buying.

Graham says the current plan has the same likelihood of passing as a "snowball's chance in hell" despite the media blitz.

Graham joked that Obama has appeared everywhere except the Food Network.

This will be the first time Obama has appeared on the "Late Show with David Letterman" since he was elected president in November 2008. Former President Bill Clinton also will be on the late-night talk show on Tuesday.
