FOOTBALL: Students asked to red out game, fireworks planned after game

The Ball State University's opening football game Thursday against the University of North Texas is guaranteed to end with a bang.

After the game, there will be a fireworks show. Prior to the game, the Ball State athletics department will be giving away free football posters and will recognize the women's volleyball team at halftime. The family of the late John Fisher will also be recognized, as will faculty members Winnie Mucherah and Dr. Maria Williams-Hawkins.

Students are being encouraged to wear red to the game to "red out" Scheumann Stadium.

The game, which will air on WLBC-104.1 FM, WCRD-91.3 FM and ESPNU, begins at 7:30 p.m.
