The University of New Hampshire scored 16 unanswered points in the second quarter to take a 16-6 lead over Ball State University.
The Wildcats took the momentum back from the Cardinals as the game headed into halftime.
The visitors got on the board with a safety after pinning Ball State at their own one yard line. Quarterback R.J. Toman threw a 26-yard touchdown to Joey Orlando to take their first lead of the night. They would add another touchdown late in the quarter when Sean Jellison took an option-pitch into the end zone.
Ball State was unable to get anything going offensively in the second quarter, losing four yards. The Cardinals only have 27 total yards on 24 plays.
Quarterback Kelly Page is 3-for-10 for 16 yards and has been sacked twice. He has not connected with a wide receiver, as all his completions have gone to running back MiQuale Lewis. Lewis has run nine times for 21 yards.
Toman is 15-for-24 for 156 yards and a touchdown through the air. Jellison rushed 14 times for 47 yards.
