Ball State University continues to trail the University of North Texas after the first half of play at Scheumann Stadium.
The Mean Green scored on their first drive of the night and added a 24-yard field goal with 1:19 left in the half. On back-to-back possessions in the second quarter, each quarterback threw an interception inside the 10-yard line.
Kelly Page threw a pick that was returned for a touchdown, but a holding call negated the score. North Texas wasn't able to capitalize on the good field possession however, as Riley Dodge was intercepted by safety Sean Baker in the end zone.
Page has completed 8-of-14 passes for 50 yards in his debut. He's also rushed twice for 15 yards. MiQuale Lewis is on his way to another 100-yard game, carrying the ball nine times for 53 yards.
Dodge has completed 14-of-20 passes for 101 yards. The freshman connected on his first 11 attempts. The North Texas offense holds a seven-minute advantage on Ball State in time of possession and has seven more first downs.
