AUBURN, Ala. - Taking advantage of a muffed punt, Ball State university got on the scoreboard first at Auburn University.
Running back MiQuale Lewis gave the Cardinals a 7-0 lead less than three minutes into the game with a two-yard run. The Tigers would tie the score up at the end of the quarter with a 6-yard pass to tight end Tommy Trott.
Ball State won the coin toss and was forced to punt after their first series, but because of the fumble got excellent field position. Lewis' touchdown run completed the 18-yard drive.
Auburn also took advantage of a fumble before their touchdown. Quarterback Kelly Page was sacked and fumbled; giving the Tigers the ball at the Cardinals' 28-yard line.
