FIELD HOCKEY: Late goal deflates Ball State's upset bid vs. Indiana

The Ball State University field hockey team lost its fifth straight game as it lost to No. 17 Indiana University 2-1 on Saturday in Bloomington.

Indiana scored its first goal at the 4:42 mark. The Hoosiers defense would not allow a goal through the first half to keep the score 1-0 going into the second half.

The Cardinals tied the game less than 10 minutes into the second half with an unassisted goal from Brooke MacGillivary.

Indiana took the lead on a goal from Corey Brautigam with three minutes remaining into the game.

With this loss, Ball State is 2-5 on the season.
