Art in many forms was presented Thursday during the eighth annual ArtsWalk in downtown Muncie.
About 50 galleries and venues were open throughout Walnut and Main streets, featuring musicians, dancers and paintings.
Sophomore arts education major Sinai Lopez said it was the first time she went to ArtsWalk. She said she liked how the art was shared among the artists.
"It's pretty cool to see all the artists coming together in one place to show their own art," she said. "It's really nice to see the artist's point of view and the viewer giving feedback."
Cheryl Crowder, manager of downtown development, said the weather was an obstacle for event planners because they had to find indoor places for some of the artist's exhibitions.
"It took a little bit of the energy out of the street that you like to have going on," she said.
However, Crowder said she was pleased with the number of artists who participated in ArtsWalk.
Some artists displaying their exhibits said they liked the outcome of the event. Genny Gordy, president of Gordy Fine Art and Framing Company, said she was pleased with the turnout of this year's ArtsWalk.
"It was rainy and we were worried, but we have been busy all night," she said. "We've had lots and lots of people through our doors and we're ecstatic."
Gordy said she thought the event was a good way to advertise the artists' works.
"It always surprises me when someone says that they don't know there are galleries downtown," she said.
