Delaware County's 2010 budget will be slightly lower than last year.
The Delaware County Council approved a $42.4 million county budget on Thursday.
The county, like Muncie and other units of Indiana government, is losing large amounts of tax revenue. The $29.4 million general fund budget, which includes most county services, decreased by 1.3 percent from 2009.
The County Council itself got the largest percent decrease in its budget, but much of that is from services provided.
The Emergency Medical Services budget also decreased by $160,000, including a $100,000 decrease for medical supplies. The medical supplies budget is now $10,000. The budget did add funding for two additional EMT positions.
An EMS representative said he hoped the $100,000 decrease for medical supplies was a typo. He said he is looking into it.
The Election Board budget more than tripled for 2010, when there will be midterm elections.
