Labor Day is approaching and with that comes the first Ball State break. This early in the school year, many may not feel the need to go back home yet. Or it may just be too far to go back home for that extra day. Either way, it's easy in Muncie to create a "stay-cation" without spending a lot of money.
Those who are new to Muncie may not be aware of all that it has to offer. Places like the Cardinal Greenway and the Minnetrista Cultural Center are staples in Muncie that make the area unique.
Here are five things to do this holiday break without spending over $10:
Prairie Creek Reservoir and Campground
Head down to the Prairie Creek Reservoir and Campground, located just five miles southeast of Muncie for a day filled with water-related activities such as boating, fishing and swimming. The beach will be open and there will be plenty of space for picnics. The campground facilities are also a major feature of the park and serve Muncie and the rest of Delaware County. It only costs $10 for a campsite.

Cardinal Greenway
A good way to get some fresh air and good exercise is to walk, run, ride or rollerblade through the Cardinal Greenway, the longest rail trail in the state. It would also be a good time to explore the environment and enjoy nature. Each year, approximately 250,000 people use the greenways throughout Indiana. Taking advantage of the greenways is a way to get out and about without spending any money.
