The Ball State University cross country team got off to a fast start in their first meet of the season beating the visiting University of Indianapolis 15-50 at the Elks Country Club in Muncie.
Ball State was led by the 2007 Mid-American Conference Championship runner-up Ali Bischel, who finished in first place overall in the meet. Bischel ran the 3.1 mile course in 17:30, to finish more than a minute faster than the closest competitor.
The Cardinals took the top eight spots overall in the dual meet with six women finishing with a time under 20 minutes.
