A member of the New York Yankees coaching staff will be an instructor at the Ball State University baseball team's camp later this year.
The Cardinals announced Monday that Yankees batting coach Kevin Long will help teach the Winter Hitting Camp on Dec. 18-20 at Ball State.
The camp includes individual and group lessons for children between 8 years old and 18 years old.
The cost to participate in a 75-minute individual or four-person group sessions Dec. 19 is $175 person. Also, there will be a larger group three-hour session Dec. 20 with Long for $125.
In addition to the hitting lessons, there will be a coaches clinic Dec. 18 at the Alumni Center. The event costs $50 per coach and will include a hitting presentation and question-and-answer session with Long.
Long has been the Yankees batting coach since 2006. New York is leading the American League in slugging percentage and is in first place in the American League East Division.
